Just Another Wednesday Update

I logged in today, as I generally do every day, after checking the news section of Star Stable's website.  While I'm overall pleased with the fact that they keep small updates coming, this update was so small it was hardly large enough to be called an update!  One quest was added: a package got lost on the road between Wolf's Hall Inn and greater Jarlaheim, and you have to find it and return it to the owner.  The package is a pair of new glasses for the NPC who gives you the daily quests in Jarlaheim and whose name I cannot remember right now.  (It's okay, he always forgets my name, too, as he surely does yours, as well!)  The touted reward for said quest is his old pair of glasses, which have their own bit of charm as they're huge on any character's face and may have a slight bit of hipster appeal.  The rest of the update was an addition to Zed [the rocker]'s shop, with some tack and leg wraps with a black and periwinkle flame pattern.  I bought the leg wra

Anticlimactic End to Update

Well now... I'm sorry, but once again Star Stable has disappointed me.  It seems as though they are spending more time designing the Tinkers than they spent on this update!  I'm already done with the new content, according to a notification message I received after finishing a quest to speak to the rest of the Star Riders in the Druid Circle. I'm almost halfway through level 15 now and as far as I know I am totally done.  I'm still curious about the <3 a="" able="" accept="" and="" available="" be="" but="" either.="" feeling="" finish="" have="" i="" in="" it="" large="" now="" p="" pandoric="" quest="" rifts="" silverglade="" t="" that="" the="" think="" to="" update="" village="" won=

The Long-Awaited Update!

Today is Wednesday, April 23rd and it's finally the day of the new content release. This weekend I noticed that Alex in Silverglade has a new quest available - if you have the rep: Presumably this requires maximum rep with the Lightning Circle, something I'm still quite far from. Thankfully, the new quests featuring Starshine and Lisa do not require that rep. The quests begin with Starshine, who is running around Greendale (the area you have to run from when you come over the bridge into the Harvest Counties).  Once you catch up to him (he moves rather fast) you have to listen to his story, which takes awhile, and eventually he will tell you to meet him at the Gray Mist Mountains (I think it's called) which is somewhere near the Unfortunate Dews Farm, in that giant unused area.   I believe you have to be at least level 14, possibly 15, and have to have finished the rest of the story quests, to be able to start these.   This is an expansion of the actual storylin

Finished with the Golden Eggs! Recap and Helpful Info.

I'm finally done, woot!  Here's what else I have for you: 1) Go back and check all the blog entries for the day to see if you missed any in the other areas.  I found my final golden egg when I went back to Harvest Counties, where I started, and checked again. 2) Read below. I want to reiterate a few things for newcomers to the blog or to the egg hunt. The egg hunts are 'hosted' by specific NPCs throughout the game.  Only these NPCs grant the quest to find the eggs and you can't find them until you accept the quest.  The eggs, while small, are quite sparkly, and are generally easy to locate (which is why I didn't break down each location of each egg within each egg hunt).   The egg hunt quests DO NOT show up on the map or the minimap - with the exception of the very first three, in Silverglade Village, Landon's, and Fort Pinta - all the rest must be searched for manually by looking for one of the main characters of each designated area.  You will see

Easter - Golden Eggs in Moorland, Valedale, Silverglade, Firgrove, Etc

So far I have found one golden egg by Mario at North Link.  It is behind him at the Observatory.  As soon as you take the gondola up you will see the message that you are close and hear the * CLUCK * sound that you hear when you get close to a golden egg. The second golden egg I've found so far here was at Valedale Lake.  I was on a "wild goose chase" trying to find the final egg for Avalon (hint: Avalon, the druid near a house in Valedale, gives the egg hunt quest here, and he's not visible until you cross the bridge) when I got the message that I was close to a golden egg and decided to investigate. At Silverglade Equestrian Center, the guy with the comparison machine,. Carney(?), is the one who offers the egg hunt quest.  The hardest one to find was the one behind the stable near the trailer.  There's another one in a grape mush basket that's the farthest away, by a vendor. In Valedale, Avalon's egg hunt had me looking all over.  Most are

Easter - Golden Eggs in Golden Hills Valley

So far I've only found one golden egg in GHV, and it is in the forest that always looks sorta smoky where the challenging race is.  There's a quest in that area to gather leaves that are floating in the air and there's also a hidden quest there for the smugglers. I found three egg hunts while I was there, though.  One given by Jasper at the pumpkin farm, one by the mayor of Cape West Fishing Village, and one from the race giver at the stables.

Easter - Golden Eggs in Jarlaheim - Harvest Counties

I believe I've found all the golden eggs in Jarlaheim.  Here are their locations, by screenshot and in order that I found them. 1) In Jarlaheim city - located in the second tier, behind the veterinarian and the dirty pets. 2) At Jorvik Stables, behind Herman's house 3) On Paddock Island, top level, behind the house 4) At Wolf's Hall Inn, right as you cross over the bridge, to the left side 5) By Unfortunate Dew's Farm (all the way up and around the path where no one goes) to the side of the stable And that, my fifth egg, contained this: Unfortunately I occasionally forget to hit Ctrl+A before Ctrl+V and end up having to crop out parts of my screenshots because MS Paint leaves behind the old image, creating a stacking photo montage that would be interesting if I weren't trying to do this! Anyways, that's all I've found so far in Jarlaheim and I believe that's all there is there. When I checked I did

Wednesday Easter Update - Egg Hunting, Golden Eggs, and Bugs

This week's updates brings a new fun egg hunt to celebrate Easter.  It starts in Silverglade Village by talking to Felix.  Once you find all five of his hidden eggs, he will give you a reward (which was an Easter egg for me) and then a new quest will open up at the guy near the Club Master in SGV (I forget his name but I'll try to check again later).  He's only a few steps away. After Silverglade Village, I headed to Landon - the guy with the rabbit race - and found all five of his eggs, and then went to Fort Pinta and found eggs for the security guard. So far I've only gotten one good reward, a pretty green saddle that has 1 swiftness on it, so it's not awesome, but at least it's pretty.  I was also disappointed in the things the vendor has for sale.  I'm not too keen on yellow (although I do like orange) and the saddle and bridle offered there are both yellow, with no decorations currently available. From Fort Pinta I took the ferry to Jarlaheim, and

Casual Play and The Elusive Tuesday Pandoric Rift

Despite the arrangement of my title, I'm going to start off this post discussing today's Pandoric Rifts.  As many of you know, Star Stable has a daily schedule for daily quests and the rifts are the main end-game daily.  Every Tuesday the Pandoric Rifts are located in the same exact spots.  Well, while doing mine today I realized that the assistance I usually receive from SSO Ridethrough  is a tiny bit confusing in this instance, so I've decided to post a screenshot that shows exactly where the hidden rift is. This is the one closest to Valedale on Tuesdays but it's a bit off the beaten path. I've been casually playing while trying to do my daily rifts, in the hopes of getting my reputation with the Lightning Circle high enough to take part in the new content on the 23rd.  I haven't been playing that much, mostly because I've been preoccupied with life, but I've also started playing another game that takes up very little time - Flight Rising .

New Content Announcement and My Take on Bullying

We've now been given confirmation that there will be additional story content added soon, on the 23rd of April.   http://www.starstable.com/en/news This is really exciting and important to me, because I feel like we've had to wait WAY too long for additional content.  At level 15 (and a quarter), I've basically beaten the game, with only a few things left to unlock - like one of the Goldspur races and some fishing quests, neither of which is exciting to me.  There have been very few things that grant experience and they all grant very minimal points with low level quest rewards.  There hasn't been very much to do in the game, but I paid for a lifetime membership so I feel compelled to play regardless.  I do enjoy collecting some vanity items, like clothing that I find pretty and my new silver toyger, but that's not really worth spending the amount of time I have been playing.  I'm hoping this gives me days (if not weeks) of new content to explore and new it

Wednesday Update

Today in Star Stable we received a small update involving Zed, the mysterious dark-haired stranger who showed up in Jarlaheim recently.  He needs help setting up a punk rock shop that will hopefully be selling items with lots of additional riding stats that actually look cool.  The first day of quests for him ends with his girlfriend, who is making t-shirts and needed ink from Fort Pinta.  She said it will take a day for the ink to dry and to come back tomorrow. Today, I met someone awesome: Lilly Moonfall of  http://lillymoonfallsadventures.weebly.com/ She suggested I make a Facebook for my character, so I did that and also created a public page for my blog. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Veronika-Starstorm-of-SSO-Etc/676245825750751 (I think Facebook took away the ability to make a custom url until you have x amount of followers, so I believe that's the link for it for now.) If you have any submissions for pictures of in-game pets, you can comment on my blog with th

Silver Toyger - and New Model White Puppy - plus New Pet-Themed Clothes

I bought the silver toyger, and here it is! It's so adorable! Also, while I was at the stable, I noticed another girl with one of the new white puppies (I can't remember their name but I'll check next time I'm at the pet store).  These are sold at the Jorvik pet store.  (I double-checked and they are called Bichon Havanese and are pretty cute because their faces are sorta sad.  At 299 Star Coins they're also one of the most expensive pets available.) I'll try to figure out a way to compose a list to help people pick which pet they want, but for now, thanks for reading and happy trails! Edit: I also got this really cute shirt at the new booth near the salon in Jorvik. It has a kitty face on it, and it's super cute from the front, but then on the back it's a little weird. It looks like it might be a tail, but it doesn't quite look right.  Oh well, I still think it's super cute! The same shop offers a new +8 Rid

Screenshots of Pets - Submit Your Own!

I did end up splurging and purchasing the 'grullo' horse, naming him Thundersoul (a name I'm still not sure about). While doing the new quests for the pet shop girl, Amelia, I decided to venture into the store and see if she really did have new cats for sale.  I don't know how long these have been there, but there are new 'toygers' available there!  There is one that's orange for 89 star coins and a silver one for 159 star coins.  I'm really curious to see what they look like, but can only afford one for the next few weeks.  I have exactly 89 star coins right now, so I can afford the orange but would have to wait awhile to be able to buy the silver if I decide I want that one - or I can wait until Saturday and buy the silver one then.  I was planning on buying the blue checkered leg wraps available through the Goldspur rep vendor on Saturday, but I don't know if I can resist a toyger!   (No toygers playing with the other ki

April Fool's Day

Happy April Fool's Day everyone!  In spirit of the holiday, Star Stable offers a repeatable pseudo-quest that allows you to change your horse's appearance.  This sadly only works on your first horse, so no Friesians with beautiful skins as of yet, but it's still really nice.  I have heard that there is a bug that if you do it on one of your Arabians or Friesians and go back to the stable it somehow makes it so other people can see a pattern change on your horse but you cannot, making it so you can have a non-starter color-changed horse, but it's kinda pointless if you can't see it. I retrieved Opalmist from Horse Island for the opportunity to have a nebula horse! I think I prefer the dark blue hair color with the nebula pattern, but it's random which one you get and I didn't want to stand there for ten minutes trying to get that combination and I'm pretty happy with this one. As you can see, it's a very popular event!  There are tons of
