Mario at the Observatory - Stars Over the Field daily quest - Wednesday

As promised, here is my Wednesday 'Stars Over the Field' work. Mario at the Observatory gives this quest, which awards 90 reputation points with A.A.E. Today, Star Stone 1 was in the ditch near the Midsummer bonfire. Here is the screenshot of the view from the telescope: Here is a screenshot of the view facing the bonfire, with my map open to show you where to find it: This is what it looks like when you are facing towards the ditch.  You can see the hot air balloons and the gondola. Star stone 2 was near the pump and watershed for the winery today. Here is the view from the telescope: This is what it looks like when you ride up to it from the Observatory:  This is how it appears if you turn around and face the Observatory: Star stone 3 was along the West Jorvik Highway today. Yesterday

Yesterday I didn't have the opportunity to play too much, but hopefully today I will and maybe even be able to give some better screenshots of Mario's dailies!  I believe each daily, like with fishing , is determined by the day of the week, so maybe I'll be able to break that down better.

Another Standstill

Well, I'm at another standstill.  (When I say another, I mean it's not my first, but I believe this is the first time I've written about it.) I was working on the quest to evict Mr. Kembell, which involved spying and a lot of other interesting things. I had to "sneak" (a very loose use of the word) past his guard dogs to find where he was hiding something nasty. (I apologize for the photo being so dark, blame the timezone difference, not me!) I completed the quest and the few that came after and found myself, once again, at a point where the only quests available to me, according to the quest log, are dailies. I still have to gain Liked reputation with the Sun Circle, which I'm working on every day, but it seems to take a long time and be more difficult than fun. Oh well, off to do those annoying dailies. ...

New Horse in the Past Tense

So I forgot to make a post when I purchased my newest horse, an Appaloosa.  I'm not quite sure why I didn't post, as I was certainly excited about it, but I suppose it's because I was too interested in actually playing the game and riding hir.  (Hir is a gender-neutral pronoun - I'm still not sure what gender ze is.) The name I settled on was Cinnamonnova.  I had a dream on Friday night, anticipating the additional 100 star coins that is allotted on Saturday morning, and in this dream the horse's name was Cinnamon...[something].  The Appaloosa I chose, if you can't tell by the name, is the roan[ish] blanket/leopard one.  I looked up what the actual names for the colors are and I believe it's "roan blanket with spots".  The horse also has some zebra-like patterns around the front and on the legs. Happy Screenshot Time! Happy Trails!

Mario and A.A.E. - Stars Over the Field Monday

Apparently today was a really good day to invest some time in the dailies that Mario offers at the Observatory.  I believe every daily quest possible was available today, with each one (with the exception of the race) giving 90 reputation points. I'm not sure, but I think the 'Stars Over the Field' quest has different locations based on the day of the week. Here are the locations today: Star Stone 1 was located near the druid stone near the Mill Hill of Will (the windmill). Here's a screenshot of what it looks like midday: And midday through the telescope: Star Stone 2 was in a location I don't think I've covered yet, in the hills to the East of the Observatory. Screenshot of the view from the telescope: Screenshot of the closeup view with the map included: Star Stone 3 was located near the pumps and small building just North of the Oil Field. I believe I've included a screenshot of this location before, but here it is ag

Cinnamon?

As I contemplate purchasing an Appaloosa, the naming dilemma once again rears its ugly head. I've made a list of all of the available name options, but have to figure out a way to list them better, perhaps using Excel or something like it.  It would also be awesome if there was a way to combine them other than manually scrolling through the lists. New Horses!

Today, as covered in the News section of the website: http://www.starstable.com/en/news Star Stable has introduced two new Appaloosa horses, available from Marley's Farm (where you can also find the American Paint and the Dutch Warmblood).  Here's some info and photos: I'm quite partial to this one: He's almost like a brown zebra!  I can't think of a better word for that color than brown... hmm... I'll think on it some. I have to wait until Saturday to buy him, but I've been wanting a brown horse, and he's just different enough to make brown cool. I have real work to do, so I should really log off, but I still have to do my silly Sun Circle quests.  :(

A headache in a chest

Oi!  I just finished encountering something of an error that really threw a wrench in my plans for the day.  The following is the comment regarding this error that I put on ssoridethrough.com on the section for hidden quests: "I don't know if I'm the only one who has experienced this, but an interesting thing happened to me during the hidden chest in Golden Hills quest.  Yesterday I had to chase Bob around after he fell into the water, and so today I had to use a boat to get to an otherwise inaccessible portion of the shore.  When I found the hidden chest, I first got a shovel from Jasper, and then needed to get a crowbar.  Rob is no longer at the old smuggler's cave, so I had to track him down in his new location to borrow his crowbar, at which point I'm told to open the chest.  At first I didn't read it properly and, after noticing that the chest was no longer in my bag, went to the location I had originally found the chest.  (My unorthodox method of travel

Lifetime!

Last night I was able to purchase Lifetime Star Rider membership! Due to the sale currently taking place, I received 2400 Star Coins and was able to purchase my newest horse, an American Paint named Wolfspirit.  It was hard to choose between the two different black and white Paint options, but I ended up choosing the one with more white on it. Say hello to Wolfspirit! By completing every race, I was able to bring him up to level 4 in one day. I'm still trying to decide which pieces of tack and which colors I want to wear and use now that I have him, and whether or not I want to dye my hair purple and change my makeup to the black eyeliner with the star on it that can be found at the salon in the fishing village, but so far I think we look pretty good.

A Fun and Productive Day {Slight Spoiler}

Today in "The World of Horsecraft" (as it appears on your billing statement and a tongue-in-cheek reference to World of Warcraft [which I also play,]) I feel as though I accomplished a lot.  I started off the day by assisting the Keepers of Aideen in the quest to find Justin, who appeared to have been kidnapped by the Dark Core, under leadership of his grandfather, Mr. Sands.  (As mentioned in the title, this is only a slight spoiler.)  There were quite a few fun activities that I had to complete as part of this quest, including playing a 'Metal Gear Solid-esque' game of 'hide and hopefully-no-one-seeks'.  There was a slight surprise twist, ending in an escape for my life, and rescue by a friendly captain.  {It's a good thing he managed to defeat those termites!} I also, once again, assisted in the production of my new-and-hopefully-epic horseshoes, which are supposed to take a week of working with the blacksmith to create. This weekend Star Stable i

Just Fishin'

Today I had my first fishing quests, and finding the right location to fish is tricky without some help. Here is the link to the website I used that helped me find the location of Thursday's fish, cod: http://ssoridethrough.com/tag/nothern-pike/ Just scroll through and it will show you the sites on your map where you will find each day's catch. The place where cod can be fished up is called Stable Beach Dock.

Stars Over the Field Daily Quest

This post is intended to help those who are stuck or lost on the 'Stars Over the Field' daily quest offered by Mario at the Observatory.  He tells you there are three stars that fell overnight, and then shows you through the telescope where they fell, but does not mark these locations on your map.  In order to review the locations, you must ride all the way back to the Observatory and check the telescope again. I've taken screenshots of the view through the telescope as well as the close-up view with my map included in the photo, in order to better show the location. Star Stone between boulders: Star Stone near ditch: It may be helpful at this time to mention that it is a little ways away from the bonfire for Midsummer Festival. Star Stone near the Baroness' race track: This one is really easy, so easy that I forgot to include a map picture.  It's right next to the gondola and construction area as soon as you come down from
